Meeting
a potential soul-mate has never been easier than with the latest dating app,
Tinder. This new age of virtual dating began in 2013 and has snowballed in
popularity ever since. Tinder creates a place where single-and-ready-to-mingle
adults can go to make discourse and meet IRL, (Van Luyn, 2015).
While
for many of us Tinder is a necessary evil, I do understand that we’re not all
social plebeians and have no idea what Tinder is, SO:
HOW
TINDER WORKS:
1.
Set up your
personal profile
2.
Set
potential match parameters
3.
START
SWIPING!
Potential
matches will immediately pop up for your perusal. If you like the look of your
match, you swipe right allowing you
to converse with your match. If you don’t like the look of your potential
match, you swipe left, literally
giving them the flick.
Once
you’ve established your match you can choose to disclose whatever information
you do or do not wish, (Clark and Clarkson, 1992). This
obviously has its benefits and disadvantages; so keeping up with the know-how
is a must when navigating the treacherous waters of blind-internet-dating.
