The world game

Distances have shrunk dramatically in the last thirty years, with cheaper airlines, mobile phone networks and the internet, instant communication keeps thousands of people connected, but how do you connect with people you have not met? `On a global server like Mineplex it may seem hard to connect to people from such vast backgrounds, but something that can help form connections is common culture. An alternative example of this could be the Rastafarian movement, which developed initially in the American-Caribbean area.Their belief centers around Ethiopia-as it is the only part of Africa that was never colonised for very long -and more precisely idolizes Haile Salassie the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930-1980. The Rastafarian movement draws on common and shared culture such as music, and a biblical sub-culture. This creates a shared identity within the group, a solidarity between people who may live on different sides of the world (Kuttainen,2015). So what's this got to do with Minecraft? On the Mineplex server, people may personalise their 'skin' in certain ways to reflect what matters to them, thus if someone has a similar 'skin' as your own, say for example another character from the same TV show that your 'skin' emulates you can feel a certain connection to this person.
